JC is coming home today

JC is coming home today. He did not run any fever last night and his anc came back up to 260. He still can't go to school probably until Monday or whenever his ANC come back up, but at least he will be out of the hospital. Thanks for the prayers.

Our Crazy Year!

I has been almost a year since JC was diagnosed with leukemia. Since that time, JC had 6 months of pretty intensive chemo therapy. He has had 5 stays in the hosptial for various reasons ranging from 1 to 10 nights. We have been so blessed! There are kids here who have been in for months at a time. And of course there are some angels who went on to be with Jesus. God is obviously not ready for JC yet. Honestly, I just don't think he would know what to do with JC...most days I don't. JC has come through this with flying colors. The doctors have been very pleased overall with his situation. We have great friends and family that have really prayed and carried us through this year. 400 of our closest friends came out to a benefit barbecue and dance in JC's honor in April. The show of support for our family has just been overwhelming and I will never be able to thank everyone enough.

JC is presently in the hospital again. He was admitted yesterday for the same reasons he has had the other 5 hospital stays. He was running fever and his anc (the way the doctors calculate his immune system) is low. He will have to stay a few days until his fever stays away at least 24 hours and his anc trends up. Yesterday it was 140. Today it was 50. Yuck! Anything under 500 is considered "nutripenic" meaning that JC could catch infection easy. He does have an ear infection which is probably the cause of all this. At least this time we know the problem. The last few times we were here he would just get fever for no reason. Anyway. I have decided that it would be easier to start this family blog and let people that wanted to stay updated just subscribe to it. Please keep us in your prayers. JC doesn't really feel to bad. I'm going to go back to work tomorrow and Courtney is going to come stay with JC. I have some great friends that are keeping Cali entertained.

I decided to start this blog so people who wanted to keep up with JC's status could just subscribe to it and not get unwanted email from me all the time. Thanks again for all the prayers!
